Guest Post: A Little Ink
I am so excited to start the first of many guest posts on the Little Sabine Design Store Blog, so many talented people out there that i just nee to share with you! Let me introduce to you Jenny Palmer of “A Little Ink”, a fabulous lady who writes adorable poems and illustrates them with fantastic drawings. We will be getting some of her work into the store soon, but in the mean time here is Jenny’s post and her fabulous work:
It’s A Little Exciting doing a guest post on the Little Sabine Blog! I can never resist an opportunity for A Little Word about who, how and what makes A Little Ink. In fact, we have A Little Family Joke that I (Jenny) started A Little Ink children’s art (also me but A Little More Businessy) just so I could always have the last word! I must admit, it’s more than A Little Perk of the job and after all I do believe A Little Word Art goes a long way.
I have A Little Love of beautiful, meaningful design (see Little Sabine Design Store for excellent examples of this), and began A Little Ink with definite rules about original or limited edition illustration, recyclable, organic materials and quality art for every age-group. What I wanted to add though, was A Little Plan to make something A Little More than décor. It’s such a unique opportunity giving art to a child. It’s something they can gaze at, share (and now I do clothing…wear) and read with the people closest to them. Poetry is just perfect for the rhythms, word play and positive messages that spark a love of language and learning in Little Imaginations.
Every Little Ink I create starts with A Little Message, grows A Little Story (and rhyme, most of the time…sorry, that was a crime!) and finally sketches out A Little Character. I love having a job designing, drawing and having the perfect excuse to trawlhttp://pinterest.com/alittleink/ and blogs for design trends. A Little Best of All though, is seeing Little Ones (and their grown ups) reading Little Inks like wall storybooks and smiling at their animal tails (oops…tales). I always hope there are some Little Encouraging Words in there for them to live by (as well as for me to live off!) and that their Little Imaginations are running wild, exploring ideas and playing with words of their own. It’s all about inspiration, at any age.
So - officially to give you ‘the picture’ of word art I love, but secretly as a diversion since I’m A Little Shy about my blog post - here’s A Little Inspiration of Words To Live By (whether you’re A Little or A Little More Grown Up!)
Oh and A Little Note: there may be A Little Product Placement accidentally included below…sort of like when I say you can vote on and read A Little Weekly Poem at www.Facebook.com/ALittleInkNZ …A Little W-Ink.
